1. Information We Collect

We collect the following data:

• Email address: You create your account with it. We use it to sign you in and to reset your password
• Full name: Other students see it on the passes and requests you send, and the door staff sees it when you arrive at an event
• Username: Your chosen display name within the app
• PUID: Your nine-digit Princeton University ID. The door staff checks it against your pass
• Profile photo: The picture you upload from your photo library
• Event photos: The pictures an officer uploads for an event
• Transaction History: The events, passes, trades, and transfer requests you create
• Push notification token: The device token that lets us send you a notification
• Crash and performance data: Your device model, operating system version, app version, and the details of an error

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information to:

• Provide and maintain the Street Swap platform
• Enable event creation and pass management features
• Process and display your events and passes
• Communicate with you about your account or our services
• Ensure platform safety and enforce our Terms of Service
• Improve and optimize the user experience
• Comply with legal obligations

3. Data Sharing and Disclosure

Your information is only shared in the following circumstances:

• With Other Users: Your public profile information, events, and passes are visible to other Street Swap users
• Service Providers: The three companies named below run parts of Street Swap for us
• Legal Requirements: We may disclose information when required by law or to protect our rights and safety
• Safety and Security: We may share information to investigate and prevent fraud, security issues, or violations of our terms

Companies that process your data

• Supabase: Hosts our database, our file storage, and our sign-in system. Your account data and your photos live there
• Expo: Delivers push notifications. Expo receives your device push token and the text of each notification we send you
• Sentry: Receives crash and performance reports. Each report carries your account id and your device details. We do not send your email address to Sentry. When the app hits an error, Sentry also records a replay of the app screen for some of those errors

4. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our services. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time through the Settings menu in the app. Upon account deletion, your personal data will be permanently removed within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal purposes.

5. Your Rights and Choices

You have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Correction: Update or correct your personal information through the app
• Deletion: Delete your account and all associated data at any time
• Objection: Object to certain processing of your personal data
• Portability: Request your data in a structured, machine-readable format

6. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. This includes encryption of data in transit and at rest, and secure authentication mechanisms (including Face ID support). However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Children's Privacy

Street Swap is intended for use by college students aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under 18. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from someone under 18, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.

8. Cookies and Tracking

Street Swap runs no advertising service and does not track you across other apps or websites. This website uses no analytics cookies and no advertising cookies. The app sends crash and performance reports to Sentry, as section 3 describes, and we use no other analytics service.

9. Third-Party Links

Street Swap may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third parties. We encourage you to review their privacy policies before providing any personal information.

10. International Data Transfers

Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your country of residence. We ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your data in compliance with applicable data protection laws.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of Street Swap after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
